Farke, 48, was pushing for the Whites to sign a new attacking option on deadline day. However he was left empty-handed after Brighton and Hove Albion's Facundo Buonanotte opted to complete a season-long loan move to Chelsea instead, while a late attempt to sign Fulham's Harry Wilson also fell through.

But despite Leeds' failure to land a new attacker, Farke insists he has already moved on from the frustration, issuing a rallying call to his squad as they fight to stay in the Premier League following last season's promotion from the Championship.

WHAT FARKE SAID

When asked about the disappointing end to the summer transfer window, Farke said: "It's fair to say we [Leeds] are not dancing on the table. But you won't hear one bad comment from me [about transfer deadline day]. My job is to adapt to the reality. I don’t need to feel sorry for myself. We need to earn the right to stay up.

"After we failed to bring an offensive option in, it’s important for us not to be too much of a victim. I’m not too angry that everyone writes us off. Let them [pundits] write us off, no problem. They say we had the same attackers, plus Rutter, Sinisterra and Rodrigo in 2023. So we will not be big favourites [to stay up]. But we will stay humble and we will look to prove the doubters wrong."

Leeds have made a solid start to life back in the top flight. Farke's men have collected four points from their first three league games, defeating Everton 1-0 in their opener before securing a 0-0 draw with Newcastle United on August 30. The Elland Road club also lost 5-0 to Arsenal on August 23.
